Ireland had been on my bucket list for quite some already; I was drawn to the joyful culture and of course the Game of Thrones scenery. I spent three full days in Dublin and Northern Ireland and I highly recommend it!
Dublin has beautiful architecture and the city is easy to navigate in. You can easily find some traditional pubs where folks play typical Irish music. One of the most famous pubs there is the Temple Bar, very touristy place but a must see in Dublin! Another must see is a tour in the Guinness Brewery. There you can try out several different beers, watch Irish dance and get to know the process of making beer.
After few days in the city, I booked a Game of Thrones tour to the Norther Ireland and Belfast. The tour itself goes trough beautiful places and if you happen to be a fan of the series, you will definitely enjoy it! In each stop, the guide was explaining the filming of the series and showing before and after pictures. It is amazing what they can accomplish with computer! In the pictures below there are fore example the castle of Harrenhall and the King's Road, cool right?
If you want to combine a weekend gateway with nature and citylife,I highly recommend Ireland! Or maybe you want to explore a warmer place? Then I recommend reading my post about Mexico!
